Two brothers plead not guilty to assault charges after an alleged altercation with police at Manchester Airport last year.

Muhammad Amaad is 25, and his brother, Mohammed Amaaz, is 20. Both pleaded not guilty in court, wearing suits and ties. They’re accused of assaulting police officers and others; video footage of the incident exists.
The hearing occurred at Liverpool Crown Court and lasted just nine minutes. Amaaz is charged with four counts, including actual bodily harm and common assault. Amaad faces one charge of causing actual bodily harm; their trial starts in June.
Amaaz allegedly assaulted Abdulkareem Ismaeil, a member of the public. He also allegedly assaulted PC Zachary Marsden, PC Lydia Ward, and PC Ellie Cook. All incidents happened on July 23, 2024.
Amaad is also accused of assaulting PC Zachary Marsden, allegedly causing actual bodily harm. The judge, Andrew Menary KC, addressed them and set the trial date for June 30, continuing their bail under the same conditions. The brothers are now free to leave.
