A sister’s tribute after her brother was found in the River Frome, Bristol, following a night out to mark his 27th birthday.

Lulu is a former judo star for Team GB and a Sutton Coldfield Sports Award winner. She called Luis her “dear little brother”, who vanished on Friday, February 28.
Luis worked at the Verdo Lounge in Wylde Green. Family and friends searched for him after he was last seen in Bristol city center.
He took a taxi from the Jam Jar venue in the St Jude’s area of Bristol and was last seen at 3 AM at Eastgate Retail Park.
CCTV footage showed him in the car park near IKEA and Tesco. His phone and bag were found near Burger King, while his wallet was discovered on a nearby mound. His family initially believed he was heading home.
They believed he felt he faced danger during a specific phone call. Police later found a body in the River Frome in Eastville, Bristol, on Monday.
The police dive team located the body on Monday, March 3, around 6 PM, during a search of the river.
Detectives informed Luis’s family about the discovery, although formal identification wasn’t yet completed. Officers are providing ongoing support to the family. A large-scale search had been conducted following Luis’s disappearance.
Lulu, who now competes for Austria, expressed that losing Luis had left a significant void. She also noted that the ongoing mystery surrounding his death made the grief even more challenging. She vowed that they would uncover the truth of what transpired and promised to celebrate his laughter and the love he shared.
Lulu expressed disbelief at his passing, highlighting the simple things she would miss, like him asking for her Netflix password and stealing chargers. The Verdo Lounge also shared the appeal for information and extended their condolences to his family.
