British couple found dead in France. Dawn Searle’s head injury and Andrew Searle’s suspected suicide under investigation.

Dawn Searle suffered a fatal head injury caused by a sharp object. The object used has not yet been located. Andrew Searle was found dead, having hanged himself, they said.
Andrew bought lottery tickets earlier that day, and a shop took a picture of him looking upset. Friends doubt a murder-suicide occurred, as they seemed like a very happy couple.
Jewelry and cash scattered near Dawn’s body could suggest a failed burglary. Another idea points to a targeted murder, given Andrew once worked in finance and fought organized crime.
However, old colleagues dismissed this idea, as he had retired ten years prior. The mayor thinks they were murdered, and doesn’t believe it was a burglary gone wrong.
Authorities are exploring all angles of the case now. Most killers knew their victims, they said, while pursuing the murder-suicide theory, too. A break-in seems less likely.
