A Bristol man faces jail after ignoring warnings about excessive noise from drum and bass music.

The council took away his stuff. They seized 13 speakers and four TVs. Mixing decks and a drum kit also vanished. Paul Arnold admitted he broke the rules. He now faces jail if he does it again.
Folks on Hillside Road started complaining last year. They said the music was too loud. The bass was especially annoying to them. More complaints came in July. The council asked people to record the noise.
They used an app to send sounds. Council workers walked down the street. They heard the music for themselves. The police got involved quickly.
Arnold received a warning notice. He ignored it completely. The council returned in August. They heard drums and loud bass again. In November, they took all his gear.
Arnold went to court this week. He admitted he broke the notice. He has to pay £850 in fines. He received a tougher order. Breaking it could send him to prison.
The council wants people to be considerate. They need people’s help to gather proof. Diaries and the Noise App were used in this case. They hope this reminds people to respect neighbors. Keep the volume down, they urge people.
