Bristol regeneration gets funding to construct homes at Frome Gateway, its city center and speed up development.

The Prime Minister talked about new towns, to be built across the country. Work should start before the next election, as the government wants 1.5 million new homes.
Bristol has two projects already underway: the Frome Gateway in St Jude’s, and the redevelopment of Bristol’s city center. Old stores will become new homes.
The Prime Minister discussed the housing accelerator, which fixes problems that delay building. He said they have unblocked 20,000 homes, but more work remains.
He wants to get rid of obstacles, with the goal of building more homes. This plan aims to create new towns and should help people who work hard.
Last month, the Prime Minister met with Malaysia and they launched a new town called Brabazon. Brabazon is on the old Filton Airfield site, where the YTL Arena is also located.
Bristol asked for more money to boost planning staff, which will speed up applications. The funds apply to Frome Gateway and the city center.
Councils in the Homes Accelerator get money, and they will share £3 million. Several plans exist for St Jude’s, including flats and student housing.
The Housing Secretary also spoke, wanting a housing revolution. She thinks urgent action is needed now to build homes and fix infrastructure.
