Brislington East councillors are happy about the 36 bus comeback. This route serves many poorer areas of Bristol. First Bus stopped it before because it didn’t make enough money.

Bristol buses are private, so they need to earn money to keep going. Now, the route is back because of Clean Air Zone funds. This 36 bus is one of three new routes.

Councillors Rippington and Hornchen answered questions online, using the Brislington Community Forum on Facebook. The two councillors pushed for the bus to return. They wanted to help locals reach doctors and libraries.

They wrote on Facebook that the route helps poorer neighborhoods and connects St Anne’s and Bishopsworth. The Facebook post showed the exact route. It goes west from Wotton Road, then travels via Guildford Road and St Anne’s Park Road.

It continues on Newbridge Road and Wick Road, then uses Allison Road and School Road. It proceeds on Bath Road and Stockwood Road. Next, it goes along Hungerford Road and West Town Lane. Finally, it drives along Wells Road and Broad Walk, finishing at Imperial Park, Hengrove, and Bishopsworth.

They mentioned possible future funding for buses, but the details are not yet clear. The government gave bus grant money for 2025/6. We don’t know how much Bristol will get yet.

Tim talked to First Bus and wants to fix the X39 and No 1 night bus times. He wants to avoid long waits at Temple Meads and Arnos Court.
