Bristol areas like Avonmouth offer lower priced houses, contrasting with the city’s overall rising property values in 2024.

Bristol homes in some areas can cost over £600,000. Avonmouth’s house prices are much lower, and as a result, the average salary needed to buy is also lower.
Bristol Live reported Avonmouth’s average price as £225,481. Avonmouth is northwest of Bristol, and people know it for the M49 ghost junction as well as transport concerns.
Residents think Avonmouth’s prices are good because Bristol has become quite expensive. Rightmove data found a cheap flat sold for £127,500, and a semi-detached house sold for £300,000 recently.
One resident said Avonmouth is a nice place and that they think Avonmouth is improving. Houses are cheaper there than elsewhere, and nearby employment is plentiful.
That person feels Avonmouth is independent, and its location feels industrial, not like Bristol. Business parks and docks are nearby.
Avonmouth has Avonmouth Park and Avonmouth train station. Cafes and shops are there too, but the Co-op’s closure worried some people because the post office inside also closed.
The Post Office said “building work” caused the closure. The Co-op closed February 4th and stays closed until March 28th. Nearby branches are in Shirehampton and Lawrence Weston.
Customers now visit the Premier store, but one lady misses the Co-op and post office. She feels Avonmouth is not improving.
Bristol City Council announced a new bus service. Route 37 will serve Avonmouth in April, connecting Avonmouth and Severnside to other areas. Clean Air Zone income funded this bus.
