Major road improvements begin on Bradley Stoke Way. Expect changes from Aztec West to Great Stoke roundabout.

The project helps walkers, cyclists, and those using scooters or wheelchairs. Buses should become faster and easier to use, too. A new bus lane is coming southbound near Savages Wood roundabout, with new bus stops that serve routes T1 and 73.
Traffic islands will change at several roundabouts, including Patchway Brook, Savages Wood, Webbs Wood, and Great Meadow roundabouts. This improves cycling and walking, with new or upgraded crossings expected.
The shared path will be better with separate lanes, one for cyclists and another for walkers. The speed limit also changes, going up to 40 mph between Great Stoke Way and Great Meadow roundabout.
Work starts at the bottom of Bradley Stoke Way, near The Worthys. The project will then move toward Aztec West, with work completed in phases.
The council expects work to end in 2027, but hopes to finish sooner, by December 2026. Diversions will be in place during work, causing T1 and m1 buses to reroute sometimes.
The roadworks improve routes for cycling and walking that run from Bristol’s edge toward Thornbury and Alveston. The project costs about £31.8 million total, with funding from a transport fund.
