Two boys tried to break into a shop in Cornwall. The shop, Pants charity shop, is in Falmouth. Devon and Cornwall Police went to the shop after someone reported two males trying to break in early in the morning.

Police found two boys at the shop. One boy was 15, the other 16. Officers took them home, and the boys must go to the police for an interview later.

A police spokesperson spoke about the incident. Police received a call around 3:45 AM on February 12, reporting two males trying to break in at Ponsharden Industrial Estate. Officers arrived and found the two boys.

Jeannette Preston founded Pants Cancer Charity. She said the teens broke a window and damaged a door and a pin pad. The teens entered an empty unit but could not steal anything from the unit.

The break-in upset the charity staff and created a lot of extra work. A solid door is now badly damaged, and the charity had to replace the lock right away. The teens could have caused more damage.

Replacing the door and window will cost a lot, affecting the charity’s money and potentially impacting how many people they can employ. Replacing doors and windows is expensive.

The charity does not have lots of extra money, as they fund cancer rehab, employ people, and pay their overhead costs. They mostly get items, not cash. It is sad, according to Jeannette.

The charity saves lives through cancer rehab and raises awareness. This incident impacts their work and the staff who work very hard. It made an impact on them.

On February 16, someone broke into Glendurgan Gardens, also in Falmouth. Police went to the National Trust gardens in Mawnan Smith. Suspects entered the gardens and caused damage.

Glendurgan Gardens shared a post saying the site closed on Sunday. Staff needed to repair the damage, and the site reopened on Tuesday, February 18.
