A 13-year-old boy died after a car crash near the M62. Five other teens were arrested and released on bail.

Police said six teens were in a black Vauxhall Corsa. The car went off Oldham Road, near Rishworth, and occurred close to Saddleworth.
Emergency crews arrived around 1 AM on February 4th. Officers shut down the road by M62 junction 22.
A 13-year-old boy went to the hospital in very serious condition. West Yorkshire Police said he died on February 17th.
The police arrested the other five teens from the car regarding the crash. West Yorkshire Police stated they released the teens on bail.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy spoke about the incident, mentioning the boy’s death was very sad. He stated support is available for the family.
Detectives are still looking into what happened and ask anyone with information to reach out. Police want to hear from witnesses, too and want any possible dashcam footage.
