Grangetown Boxing Club gets extension plan, backed by Redcar and Cleveland Council, expanding training space.

Grangetown Boxing Club uses the Grangetown United hub. It is on Derwentwater Road. They wanted to add an extension.
Redcar and Cleveland Council said yes to the plan. LJC Architectural Design, from Redcar, created the designs. The extension adds more space for the boxing club. It will grow from 117 to 204 square meters.
People didn’t complain about the new plans. A council worker said the new part fits well. It matches the look of the current building. The street will still look nice.
The extension won’t bother neighbors either. It doesn’t block views or feel too big. Boxing works there because it’s a community hub.
The boxing club started back in 2021. They received money from Sport England and other groups. Lynn Pallister helped get the funds. She works for FROG.
Cornelius Carr opened the club. He is a former boxing champion from Grangetown. He used to train at a similar boxing club there. That club closed a while ago.
