A pub that closed down will reopen soon. It is The Bowling Green on Bury Road in Bolton, and they got approval at a licensing meeting. The pub plans to stay open late on weekends.

SJR Trading Ltd applied to Bolton Council, initially wanting to open until 3 am on some nights, but they later changed the request to 1 am. The new hours apply Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

The owners gave details about the business, explaining it will be a family place until 10 pm. After that, it transitions into more of a bar, and they’ll serve hot snacks later at night.

People may rent the pub for events like funerals, baptisms, and community gatherings. The Bowling Green also has a beer garden that can accommodate about twenty people.

Some neighbors worried about the late hours, and their objections mentioned the original 3 am closing time. They feared noise and bad behavior would increase, concerns the council published.

One neighbor thought the late hours were “crazy” and said it would upset the quiet neighborhood. Another person complained about old noise at the pub that occurred during the previous operation.

The pub promised to join the Pub Watch Scheme, and security staff will work Thursday to Saturday nights, assessing risks carefully. The pub will have a zero-tolerance drug policy, and plastic glasses are for outdoor use.

Bolton Council approved the pub’s license after considering the changes to the application. Council members noted the offered conditions, and objectors did not oppose the application itself.
