A man in his 20s was arrested in Horwich for drug offenses and suspected ‘cuckooing’ involving county lines.

The police team deals with “county lines,” which means drugs move between areas, often crossing police borders. The drug order phone is considered a “county line.”
“Cuckooing” is when criminals take over someone’s home to deal, store, or take drugs there, often connecting to county lines. Police searched the house and seized a mobile phone they believe was a drug order line.
Criminals target lonely or addicted people, quickly moving locations to lower their capture risk. Since September 2022, police made 366 arrests, took 108kg of drugs, and closed about 400 drug lines.
Police closed a drug line in Bolton, and PC Andrew Shaw stated they think the line exploited people. His team closed 160 drug lines last year, focusing on protecting victims and catching suspects.
Drugs hurt communities, causing addiction and exploitation. Police will relentlessly pursue criminals, acting on information and working to apprehend them.
