Bolton Council wants ideas for future building spots. They announced a “call for sites.” You can suggest land for development. April 15 is the deadline.

Land owners, builders, and locals can participate. Tell them which areas should or shouldn’t be developed. This helps update the local plan, which guides long-term building policy.

This plan impacts many things like housing, jobs and green spaces. Bolton already uses “Places for Everyone,” which shares planning with Greater Manchester. This “call for sites” finds future locations.

Suggesting a site doesn’t guarantee approval, but it starts the process. Your spot will be considered for 20 years. Sites must hold five homes, at minimum, and economic sites require 0.25 hectares. Smaller sites are welcome, too.

You can view Bolton’s existing land map, which shows approved and green belt areas. A questionnaire lets you share your thoughts. Council leaders say planning must meet local needs. They want to balance housing and jobs, and they also want to protect Bolton’s special character.
