Shared Earth is a unique shop on Bold Street. Jenny Harland works there; she uses her middle name now. She worked with someone with the same name before. Jenny manages Shared Earth.

The shop sits near Mowgli and a closed store. She has worked there almost twenty years. She started when it first opened. Jenny leads a team of thirteen people, and she is the only full-time employee now.

She studied at Liverpool University. Jenny said jobs rarely open up there. She mentioned the prior shop, Liverpool World Shop, which closed. Shared Earth took over to continue fair trade.

Jeremy Piercy started Shared Earth in York in 1986. It quickly became a limited company and a wholesaler within two years. The Liverpool shop opened in 2006.

They sell many things, including cards, sculptures, and incense. You can also find windchimes, birdhouses, dishes, and socks there.

It is one of the few old independent shops remaining. Jenny feels sad about the changes because rent is very high. Retail is difficult daily, and many things make survival hard.

Jenny mentions people think it is easy work, but you must always be ready, she stated. A tarot reader also works there now, as they’ve expanded their offerings.

They seek out customers actively. They want people to see what they offer and hope to stay open each year. People love the items once they enter.

Shared Earth may not be well-known, but they must be doing things right, Jenny shares. They ask for continued support from the community, without which they cannot continue.

Their main goal is helping others. Shared Earth focuses on the climate crisis and wants a sustainable world. They ensure fair pay for farmers and workers.

Jenny imports items from artisans across the globe. Asia, Africa, and South America are key areas. She said you help those in tough spots, and customers also help when they buy things.

It is busier now than before. Shared Earth has a good reputation. They know what stock to buy and have loyal customers for years. The shop is unique in Liverpool, and people love its colorful and beautiful atmosphere.
