A body was discovered in Kenya during the search for missing Brit Campbell Scott, who vanished on February 16.
The body was found in shrubland. Authorities are working to identify it. Scott, 58, was at a Nairobi hotel, attending a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel.
Colleagues reported him missing. Police and Interpol started a search. Animal herders located a body on Saturday in a green sack in the Makongo forest, near Nairobi.
Scott checked into his hotel February 15. People last saw him leaving the next day. His colleague couldn’t reach him Sunday night and alerted the hotel. The hotel advised contacting the police.
Police started investigating the case earlier. A friend said he was a kind person. Before the body was found, Fico stated they were cooperating with authorities. Their thoughts were with Scott’s family and friends.
The Foreign Office commented, saying they are helping Scott’s family and talking with Kenyan authorities. A missing person case is now a death investigation involving a British citizen.
