Bodies of Scot Dawn Kerr and Husband Found in France Home

A friend found Dawn Kerr murdered at her home in France. Dawn was 56, and her husband, Andrew Searle, was 62. The friend discovered them last week at their house which is near Toulouse. Local prosecutors say they died violently.

Authorities are still investigating and have not ruled out other suspects. Neighbors shared shocking details, reporting that a friend walking her dog to their house found Dawn beaten badly. Andrew was found hanging inside.

The couple owned two large dogs and often walked with their friend. Other dog owners joined them too in their quiet village, which lies north of Toulouse.

One woman said they were lovely, and they often met while walking dogs. She said everyone is very shocked. Another local knew Dawn well. Dawn was a project manager and seemed happy recently, despite having been sick with the flu.

A shop worker said Dawn seemed smiley. The couple was very kind and close. They taught English to neighbors for free every Sunday. Another businessman called them perfect and noted they helped with local events.

Police are following different leads. Some think it was a revenge attack, noting Andrew investigated financial crimes for work. Police consider murder-suicide as well.

Dawn was searched during the attack, though there was no sign of robbery. No sexual assault occurred, despite her clothing. Dawn was partially undressed, said prosecutors. Autopsies happened on Monday and revealed Dawn had a head wound that came from a sharp object. Andrew hanged himself and had no defense wounds.

The prosecutor spoke about the deaths. More tests are happening now to confirm the causes. They want to know what happened: was it murder then suicide? Did someone else hurt them?

Dawn and Andrew married in 2023. Dawn’s son, Callum, walked her down the aisle; he used to be on Hollyoaks. They moved to France ten years ago. The government is helping the family and talking to French police.
