A cyclist suffered bad injuries in Stockport. The accident occurred Monday evening at a roundabout near Cheadle, connecting Wilmslow Road and the A34, where the Royal Crescent also meets.

Emergency services quickly arrived and closed the road for several hours. Greater Manchester Police gave an update today explaining that a grey BMW 1 series went the wrong way and hit the cyclist on the roundabout.

The cyclist is a man in his 60s, and he went to the hospital for treatment. He has serious, possibly life-changing injuries. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigates.

Police arrested a man, also in his 60s, suspecting him of dangerous driving. He’s still in custody for questioning.
