Two individuals misused stolen Blue Badges in Haringey and face fines exceeding £2,000.

One person got an £800 fine after a court hearing they didn’t attend. The court issued a collection order. This individual repeatedly parked in restricted spots. The car displayed two different Blue Badges, one of which had been reported as stolen. The car’s owner lived in Nelson, Lancashire, and did not answer the council’s calls.
The other person received a £1,240 fine. Their car also had two different Blue Badges and was parked in restricted spots in Haringey. Both badges had been reported lost or stolen.
This person claimed someone else drove the car. However, they knowingly used the badges and avoided parking fees three times. They admitted guilt in court under the Fraud Act.
