Blacks Corner, a popular restaurant, will open a new location in Sunderland’s Culture House in Keel Square.

The restaurant will be on the ground floor, featuring a bar, cheese counter, and a dining area. Diners can view chefs at work, and the restaurant will also offer culinary workshops.
Blacks Corner will also cater events at Culture House, including those held at the Sky Garden, which overlooks the city. The restaurant emphasizes community engagement and sustainability.
Sunderland is blending its heritage with innovation to create a revitalized city center that will benefit both locals and visitors. Blacks Corner aims to contribute to this transformation, inspired by the changes taking place in Sunderland.
Blacks Corner aspires to become a Sunderland landmark, much like Binns once was. Similarly, Fenwick is an iconic institution in Newcastle, with this new location marking their fourth establishment.
They currently operate a restaurant in East Boldon, as well as a deli and the award-winning Tram Shelter at Seaburn. They champion British goods and support small producers. The new location will also generate employment opportunities.
Culture House is designed to be a welcoming and multi-purpose venue where people can spend their time. It will house the city library, offer digital resources, and host a variety of planned events.
Culture House is a key component of Riverside Sunderland, a significant regeneration project. This project encompasses new offices, homes, a new hospital, and a bridge.
