Blackpool hotel and restaurant prosecuted for food safety breaches after inspections.

A council member mentioned the team’s success, exceeding their monthly goals during that time. Some businesses, however, did not follow food rules, prompting the council to begin enforcement actions, successfully prosecuting two businesses with four more prosecutions coming soon.
The council served twenty hygiene improvement notices and issued cautions to three businesses. Two businesses chose to close temporarily, and officers seized food from five businesses.
This work was done by three control officers, a technician, and a manager. They also handle food standards, oversee feed controls, and address health, safety, and infection control.
Daish’s Blackpool Hotel improved after action related to a poor kitchen found by inspectors in August 2023, leading to a £14,000 fine in July 2024. The hotel admitted to food and safety offenses.
An inspection in March 2024 showed improvement at the hotel, which now has a “good” food hygiene rating; they had immediately cleaned thoroughly after the first inspection. EAT Indian on Church Street closed temporarily after inspectors gave it a zero rating and issued a hygiene improvement notice.
A December 2024 inspection at EAT Indian resulted in a rating of two, which means needs some work or improvement.
