Ian and Gayle, who met at an Asda in 2009, celebrate 16 years together this Valentine’s Day and are now married with a son.

Ian Fitzgerald met Gayle at the Bishopbriggs Asda branch. He worked there, and Gayle was also his colleague. This was back in 2009.
Their connection grew stronger, and they married in 2013. In 2016, they had a son named Tom.
They shared their story, and they hoped it might inspire others.
Gayle said she and Ian started as colleagues first. She said their connection grew over time and became something deeper.
She added that they are now married and are raising their son Tom. They support each other and she said they would not have met without Asda.
The store also held a community tea party which Lorraine MacDonald organized. She collaborated with FACTS, a local charity.
The event aimed to bring folks together and helped those facing loneliness and isolation. All ages were welcome.
Lorraine said Valentine’s can be tough for some, and they wanted to do something special.
She invited people to Asda Bishopbriggs for a Valentine’s Day tea party that supported FACTS, a local charity.
For £5, people enjoyed tea, coffee, and treats. The money helped family and community events, and everyone was welcome there.
