A driver chased and fatally rammed an e-bike rider. The incident, caught on camera, led to a murder conviction.

Ibrahim drove the opposite way first, then turned around at a roundabout. He started following the two bikers, initially at a slow pace. The Seat Leon had a broken headlight, and Liam did a wheelie in front of his friend.
Ibrahim seemed angry about the wheelie, so the two cyclists tried to escape. They changed their route and went down a one-way street; despite this, Ibrahim found them on Moat Lane. He rammed Liam’s bike from behind twice.
Liam crashed into a concrete post and suffered severe chest and stomach injuries. He died at the scene. Ibrahim drove over Liam’s bike, made a U-turn, and drove away, parking on Golden Hillock Road.
Ibrahim’s brother, Abdullahi, was in the car. Abdullahi called a taxi around 12:50 AM. They stopped at a shop on Coventry Road first, then they split up. Abdullahi took another taxi home before 3 AM, while police later found the Seat near the Jewellery Quarter.
Police already knew the Seat was involved, and officers went to the brothers’ home in Yardley. Abdirahman lied about his car’s location, saying it was parked elsewhere around 9:30 PM. Later, he admitted manslaughter.
Police pursued a murder charge, and a court found the 21-year-old guilty. Abdullahi admitted to assisting an offender. He will be sentenced on March 26, scheduled alongside his brother’s sentencing.
