Birmingham Airport expects a busy February. They predict 20% more passengers than last year. Over 345,000 travelers will pass through the airport. This busy period lasts eleven days, from February 14 to February 23.

Amsterdam, Tenerife, Dubai and Paris are popular trips. Lots of people also want to visit Belfast, which is the top domestic spot for the holidays.

The airport shared some helpful tips for passengers to help ensure a smooth travel experience. Arrive when your airline suggests.

Keep liquids under 100ml in hand luggage and empty metal flasks before security so you can refill them later. Keep large electronics in your bag. Take off large coats to help speed things up.

Check your airline’s check-in time and arrive when check-in opens, not earlier. You can find this detail on your booking documents. Jet2 and TUI offer twilight service enabling you to drop off bags the day before for flights before noon, just confirm drop-off times with your airline.

Keep all belongings with you all the time. Jet2 uses Zone A for check-in, Emirates uses Zone D, and all other airlines use Zones B & C.

Leave compliant liquids and electrics in your bag. Liquids under 100ml stay in your hand luggage, and all electrical items also stay inside. Remember to empty metal bottles before security.

Take everything out of your pockets, including phones, keys, coins, and tissues. You can leave your watch on, but be ready to remove belts and shoes if asked.

The airport’s website has a FAQ page that answers common questions. Live chat is available online too, with agents available to help from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Sunday.
