California may name Bigfoot its official cryptid through bill AB 666. This follows other unique state symbols, like a state dinosaur.

Rogers introduced a bill, called AB 666. The bill seeks to make Bigfoot an official symbol, similar to the state flower or tree.
California already has many state symbols. The Bear Flag represents their flag, and “The Golden State” is their nickname.
Some symbols are very specific; “Eureka” is the state motto, for example. They also named official state nuts, which include almonds, walnuts, pistachios, and pecans.
They even have a state dinosaur, Augustynolophus morrisi. Furthermore, they have state reptiles and insects, too. Denim is even California’s official fabric.
Bigfoot isn’t unique to California. People claim to see it in other states, including Washington, Oregon, New York, and Ohio.
Rogers’s idea might upset other states that also have Bigfoot sightings. People await the bill’s success to see what happens.
This news coincides with another story: A Bigfoot hunter recently got divorced. He cheated during a Bigfoot hunt, taking his ex with him secretly while his wife considered that search to be the final betrayal.
He went camping in British Columbia, searching for Bigfoot there in 2020. He did not tell his wife about the ex-girlfriend.
