East Riding Council completes affordable housing project in Beverley, featuring sustainable energy solutions and quick tenant placement.

They built four new council houses. Two houses have two bedrooms each. The other two have three bedrooms each. Local builders like Geo. Houlton & Son built them. Construction began in April 2024.
The council’s housing fund paid for it. Homes England also provided a grant. This group assists with affordable housing.
The houses have solar panels on their roofs, and they also have air-source heat pumps. The council will check energy use and monitor tenant cost savings.
New tenants will move in quickly. The council will assign houses using their housing policy.
Councillor Gary McMaster made a statement, saying he thinks the project is fantastic and is happy it’s complete. The council invested a lot. Renewable energy will help tenants. The council will track this project, seeing it as a test for future projects.
