New food market at old Europa Bus Centre aims to revitalize Belfast with jobs, Platform community hub and better links.

This “meanwhile” space will feature a food market and a bar, potentially creating forty jobs. It aims to revive that part of Belfast by including a community hub called Platform, which Co-operation Ireland will run.
Platform will support local groups while Weavers Cross plans develop. MRP, in charge of the Weavers Cross project, envision a lively area with various amenities, including shops, homes, and businesses. These will surround the new Grand Central Station.
The food market hopes to attract more people to the area and create opportunities for local and global traders. It also reinforces walking routes extending from Great Victoria Street to the station.
Co-operation Ireland is excited about the location and believes Weavers Cross will contribute to a more inclusive and better Belfast. Their offices reflect their commitment to community spaces and building on peace work.
You can still access the former Bus Centre via open paths from Glengall Street and other areas. The food market is awaiting planning approval and, if approved, should open this summer. Planning for Weavers Cross was approved in 2023.
