TfGM issued a statement regarding a Bee Network bus fire in Manchester. No injuries were reported after the incident.

A passenger, Paul Frost, saw smoke and then started banging to alert the other riders. He wanted riders to see the fire because the wheel of the double-decker bus was burning.
Firefighters arrived around 6 AM and spent about thirty minutes at the scene. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) gave an update, stating that no one got hurt in the incident.
TfGM mentioned a small fire involving a Bee Network bus that had a mechanical issue. Passengers boarded another bus after the fire service extinguished the flames and towed the damaged bus.
Paul Frost first noticed smoke coming from the wheel arch, also seeing flames. He immediately told the driver the bus was on fire and urged everyone to evacuate quickly.
He tried to flag down other buses, and someone even threw water bottles hoping to help extinguish it. Another bus driver used an extinguisher, but it didn’t work well, leading Paul to borrow and use another extinguisher to help before the fire brigade arrived.
Fire crews received a call about a fire on Bridge Street, and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters used a hose reel and a thermal camera to successfully put out the bus fire.
