Council nears decision on 110 homes in Balsall Common despite local concerns over traffic and loss of green space.

The plan includes about 110 new houses. Some homes would be affordable. Pedestrian and cycle paths are also in the works. They are also planning play areas for kids. An ecological zone is also proposed. Old houses on the site will be torn down.
The company says it wants to listen to locals. But a public review happened in January. People shared fourteen objections. They worried about losing countryside’s green belt. Increased traffic and noise bothered people. Pollution also worried them.
Council officers suggest approving the plan. They call the land “grey belt.” This means it’s not great green belt land. They feel building is okay there. They say there is a housing need. Traffic issues can be fixed, they think. The new homes won’t bother neighbors too much.
