The “Baldock Woman,” killed 50 years ago, may have links to Cornwall. New leads suggest a possible identity.

In February 1975, someone hit her on the A1 near Baldock. She walked without shoes, but her feet were not very dirty, so she likely had not been barefoot for long.
Locate International helps solve old cases, and volunteers worked with a couple who might have known her in the 70s. A forensic artist created new pictures, and this artist recreates images of dead people.
The couple spoke up after a 2010 appeal. They thought she was French and about 23 to 25 years old, and her name might be Anna or Odile.
The charity found something: The Cambridge Evening News mentioned “Odile Ledoux” in 1972, and the description of the woman was similar.
A charity person reported a potential big update. They want anyone with information to speak up, and they will check all leads.
“Baldock Woman” stayed with the couple in the early 70s. She visited the Stotfold Social Club, worked in Henlow, Bedfordshire, and then studied in Cambridge.
The article said Odile Ledoux studied English at Cambridgeshire College, which is now Anglia Ruskin University. She resided on Sturton Street, might be from north Paris, and had friends in Newquay.
Mark Greenhalgh leads the charity. He wants to identify her after nearly 50 years, and he thinks someone can help. He added that the chance to find her is fading. She would be in her late 60s or early 70s, and they need people to help soon.
Volunteers have searched for years, and a small clue can change everything. Please, come forward with any information. The charity explores “Odile Ledoux,” “Anne,” and “Anna,” as well. If you know anything, contact them by email, call, or check the website.
