Gang in balaclavas, reportedly wielding axes, sparked a police response after a car chase in East Kilbride.

The incident happened around 1:15 pm Saturday on Teal Crescent in South Lanarkshire. Someone saw a man with a bladed weapon and getting into a car, which then hit another vehicle.
A witness described a car chase involving three cars. It ended in a dead end street, where a gang in balaclavas chased a car, seemingly hitting the back windows of the pursued car with axes.
The witness, who was walking their dog, saw the driver reach the dead end and drive onto a path. They knocked down a fence, and even drove across gardens, before masked men exited a car to chase the first car driver.
Police Scotland stated that the driver fled with others after crashing into another car. Police are investigating the matter and seeking these individuals.
Police received a report around 1:15 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025, stating that a man with a bladed weapon was seen getting into a car on Teal Crescent. His car subsequently crashed.
The man and the other people left the site. Police are still investigating, wanting to find those involved and understand exactly what happened. Nobody was hurt in this event.
