Khloe Malbon chased a man with an axe in Hanley. Bystanders laughed. She was arrested and jailed for 16 months.

Later, she was outside the Burslem Police Station, arguing with a man while holding an axe above her head. She is 28 years old, and is now in jail for 16 months due to the court’s decision.
The prosecutor stated Malbon chased a man on May 7 at 3 PM on Stafford Street, wielding the axe. Some men laughed while she chased him, but the court believed she wasn’t likely to hurt him badly. She denied owning an axe after police arrested her, then she ran away.
The court learned that on May 11, she argued loudly outside the Burslem Police Station around 10:45 AM. She pulled out an axe and held it high, and the man dared her to hit him, stating she had threatened him earlier. Police chased Malbon as she ran, and she was finally caught in a garden; police found the axe in her bag.
The prosecutor noted she had escaped custody before, and the second axe incident happened while she was still free.
Malbon admitted to having the axe twice in public, escaping jail, and missing a bail hearing. She had no permanent address.
Her lawyer said drugs affected her actions, and that the incidents were brief. She feels sorry for what she did.
The judge said having an axe in public is a serious crime that required a police response. She also gave them a wrong name and birthday. Furthermore, while they searched her bag, she ran after they did not handcuff her since she seemed upset.
The judge said her escape was a chance thing. On May 11, she argued with a man near the Burslem Police Station at 10:45 AM. She grabbed an axe and held it up while yelling, which could have caused serious trouble. Police arrested her nearby.
The judge ordered the axe to be destroyed.
