Joanne Ward, an Asda worker in Fraserburgh, helped an elderly customer who became ill. She called an ambulance and offered support.

The customer’s husband approached Joanne. He was worried his wife was in the restroom for too long. Joanne went to check on the woman right away. She found the woman was ill inside a toilet stall.
Joanne quickly called for an ambulance, and she stayed with the couple for support. Joanne reassured them until paramedics showed up. They took the woman to the hospital. The husband didn’t drive and needed a ride home.
Joanne offered him a ride in her car. Then, she drove him to the hospital to see his wife. Joanne said she simply did what felt right. It was a very upsetting situation for them, and she wanted to offer reassurance.
Joanne later discovered a connection. The lady’s sister lived next door to her. The sister gave Joanne updates on the woman’s hospital progress. Thankfully, both are doing well now.
Steve Hulse praised Joanne’s actions. He is the General Store Manager at Asda Fraserburgh. Steve said Joanne’s empathy shows how Asda cares. He said they are very proud of her kindness, and Joanne went above and beyond for them.
