An Asda driver in Warrington helped an 81-year-old man after sensing something amiss during a delivery.

Joe is only nineteen. He called Thomas’ son, Julian, whose number was on the online order. Joe asked if everything was okay, and Julian gave Joe permission to enter. Joe and a neighbor entered the house.
They found Thomas lying in the hallway. Joe then called 999 for help and got blankets for Thomas. He kept Thomas warm and talked to Thomas and his wife. His wife, Patricia, has Alzheimer’s.
Paramedics and carers finally arrived. Thomas has recovered well since then. Joe said he was glad Thomas was doing well and hoped others would do the same. He only did what he thought was right.
Julian thanked Joe immensely for his kindness, believing Joe saved his father’s life. Julian was truly amazed by Joe’s concern, as he lives over three hours away. Joe updated him by phone often and cared most about his parents’ safety.
He waited with Thomas until a neighbor arrived. The neighbor stayed with Thomas’s wife while the ambulance took Thomas to the hospital. Joe asked for updates on Thomas. Julian feels so grateful for Joe. Thomas’s sister, Amanda, also thanked Joe, saying he deserves a medal and thinks he makes the world better.
