Hey, guess what happened in Cardiff? Police dealt with some trouble downtown before the Cardiff City versus Bristol City game. Someone got arrested for a public order offense.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic on Saturday. A bus got attacked, and damage happened in the city center. One person said to avoid downtown due to riots.

Videos showed many fans fighting police near St Mary Street and Wood Street, by the Prince of Wales pub. People threw things as police tried to regain control.

Another video showed police separating fans, keeping Cardiff fans apart from others, also near the Prince of Wales pub. The football game ended in a 1-1 tie after it started around 12:30 PM.

Matt Thomas saw a crowd while on a bus with his son, going to Pentyrch. He said about 100 fans passed by them, and police were guiding them down Westgate Street.

One fan hit the bus door, and the glass broke. Thomas and his son were quite shaken. Police said they helped fans safely reach the stadium, expecting a tense atmosphere due to it being a derby game.

Police responded quickly to stop the disorder and planned to help fans leave safely too. Huw Thomas thanked the police, saying Cardiff had no ongoing issues.

The council leader said it was disappointing that a few idiots caused the trouble. Incidents happened around 10:30 AM, but he said that the police handled it fast and that everyone is safe downtown now.
