A man and woman are arrested in Chelmsford after road rage in Basildon seriously injured a man on Whitmore Way.

The man, who is in his 30s, was hurt on Whitmore Way around 5:30 p.m. Monday. He was sent to the hospital. His injury was serious, but not deadly.
The man argued with a car driver right before the attack. Police looked for the car driver and arrested a man and a woman in Chelmsford in connection with this incident.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A 35-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of breaching the peace and a court order.
Chief Inspector Dan McHugh spoke, acknowledging public concern. He stated police worked fast to catch suspects and officers are visible in the area. People should talk to them if concerned.
