Two arrested at Shenfield station after a robbery in Colchester park. Teen unharmed; jewelry recovered.

Essex Police learned that someone threatened a teen with a weapon around 6 PM that Sunday. The teen had to give up jewelry but wasn’t hurt. Officers started looking for the suspects quickly.
Two suspects appeared near Colchester North station and boarded a train to London. Essex Police worked with transport police to ensure the train was safe and watched the two suspects.
The train stopped in Shenfield, where police arrested both suspects. Officers searched them and found jewelry and lots of cash. Police believe all this links to the robbery.
The men stayed in custody for questioning on Monday. Police want to hear from witnesses who saw anything odd in Colchester or at the Colchester North train station, particularly on Sunday afternoon or evening.
Inspector Tim Coyles stated that the suspects were unaware of the police and that the public was never in danger. He said they arrested two people safely due to good teamwork.
Inspector Coyles added that knives are a big problem, and police want to stop knife use in Essex. Police will come down hard on offenders to discourage people from carrying knives and will act on threats.
Chief Inspector Jennifer Bliss, who directs armed police for the force, also commented. She said officers patrol daily, keeping Essex safe, and citizens rarely hear about their work. She said they act professionally and she is proud and thankful.
