A homeowner is appealing Solihull Council’s rejection of his plan to build new homes in Hockley Heath.

The homeowner applied again last April. His agent believes the location works well and that the plan fixed past problems. Two homes would fit there without being crowded; they see no issues with safety or appearance.
Neighbors disagreed during a public meeting. They worried about privacy and flooding, feeling it crammed too much into that area. They also cited highway safety and poor communication.
The council’s planning head also rejected it. He called the homes “alien” to the area, and trees nearby concerned him too. He said they lacked data about tree safety.
The applicant has now appealed this decision. Filed on February 18, the Planning Inspectorate will look into it.
Both sides must present their cases by April 8. A hearing date is still pending, but you can find appeal details online with the code. Go to the government’s Planning Inspectorate site.
