Fairways Care Ltd plans to replace its Trearddur Bay nursing home with a larger, modern facility offering improved amenities.

The current nursing home has 37 beds, but the new one will have 46. It is located north of Lon St Ffraid. The nursing home started in 1986 and used to be two houses.
Over time, they added more rooms and improved the facilities. Fairways now has lounges, gardens, and an outdoor terrace.
The new building is planned as an improved nursing home addressing a need for more care spaces. Anglesey needs more care home beds, a fact the council’s head of adult services agrees with.
Fairways was the first such home on Anglesey, starting with eight rooms. It helped elderly locals needing care and offered an alternative to hospitals.
Fairways has assisted many families with the goal of a safe, accessible home, which should enrich residents’ lives. The bedrooms will be well-sized and each will feature en-suite bathrooms, including accessible showers.
Residents also get small sitting areas, and generous communal areas are planned. Each floor gains a main lounge, a quiet lounge and dining room, and nurse stations with storage nearby. A lift provides access to each floor.
The ground floor offers a main entrance leading to reception and a meeting area. Activity rooms, a salon, and a function area are also in the plan.
Support areas include catering and laundry, along with space for admin, maintenance, and staff accommodation. The design allows for natural light, and they will install large windows.
People can access secure gardens with seating and balconies. These balconies offer coastline views.
The project could create many jobs, with hopes for 40 full-time and 22 part-time roles. The home now has 50 workers.
