They are building a new road connecting Alconbury Weald and Huntingdon. Developers say the road construction is in a new phase. Work started on the southern entrance to the area, giving direct access to the A141 road.

Urban&Civic met with locals on February 12 to celebrate this milestone together. The £10 million invests in a 2km road and will create the southern end of The Boulevard, supporting new houses and Prestley Park in the second phase.

The Boulevard will be the main road there. Cars, buses, bikes, and people will use it to link Ermine Street in Alconbury Weald to the A141 near Huntingdon.

Most work on The Boulevard’s south end will be onsite. When done, it will connect to the A141, with completion expected in late summer 2025.

Some early work is already complete, including landscaping and cleanup. Archaeologists also checked the route.

Road workers will install new roads and add paths for walking and biking. Services and streetlights are also being installed by Breheny, who is doing this construction work.
