AI speed cameras in Stoke-on-Trent caught 2301 drivers speeding in their first year, with A34 Newcastle Road registering most.

Data shows the cameras caught over 2,600 people, with Stoke-on-Trent accounting for 2,301 offenders and Stafford seeing 327 speeding incidents which equates to about 45 per week.
BlackCountryLive requested this speeding information, and police put cameras where speeding was identified as a problem to improve road safety. Staffordshire Police might add more cameras later, striving for less dangerous driving.
The A34 Newcastle Road camera caught the most drivers, clocking 1,616 vehicles in Trent Vale. Other locations witnessed a substantial number of speeding violations as well.
Specifically, Stafford’s A449 Wolverhampton Road recorded 327 drivers, Hanley’s A5008 Potteries Way caught 436 offenses, and the A53 Leek New Road detected 249 drivers exceeding speed limits.
Speeders may face fines, points on their license, or be required to attend driving safety courses. These cameras use radar to accurately measure speed, and send images of speeding cars to officers for processing.
Inspector Joynson commented that the technology significantly aids in monitoring and checking speeds. He expressed hope that it would serve as a reminder to prioritize road safety for all drivers.
