Plans submitted for 49 affordable homes near Abergele Road in Bodelwyddan. Concerns raised over traffic and local impact.

The plans include roads, footpaths, public space, and landscaping. Drainage and a pumping station are also included in the proposal. Bodelwyddan Town Council supports this development, but some residents have sent letters objecting.
Residents worry about increased traffic, potentially affecting the local school. Concerns also extend to the impact on nature, with fears that roads might become too busy. More cars could endanger walkers and cyclists.
A council officer checked traffic conditions and did not object to the proposal. The plan features homes of various sizes, including one, two, three, and four-bedroom options.
The houses will be constructed with brick and render walls, topped with grey or red tile roofs. Solar power integration is part of the design. Importantly, the land is located just outside the town limit.
Council staff recommend approval, citing a significant need for housing. The current location is deemed a good fit, being near the town boundary.
A committee will discuss this plan at a meeting on February 12 in Ruthin.
