A boy is accused of killing Bhim Kohli. This happened in a Leicester park. The boy said he needed to release anger because he broke up with his ex-girlfriend.

He admitted using violence in a letter he wrote to a professional. The letter followed Kohli’s death last September in Braunstone Town’s park. He wrote the letter a month after getting charged.

The letter was for a court jury. It said he struggled after the break-up and that he accepted what he did and was scared.

The prosecutor spoke to the jury and said that the professional met with the boy. The boy knew the letter would be shown, then he said his manslaughter plea was gone.

The prosecutor told the jury to notice the boy did not say he acted in self-defense, nor did he defend someone else. The jury had a copy of the letter.

The prosecutor thinks the violence was not self-defense and believes the boy acted out of anger. The jury heard the boy’s police statement before.

He told police Kohli tried to hit him and threatened his young friend. The boy’s actions were self-defense, he claimed, because he defended the 12-year-old girl.

The girl, now 13, is also on trial with the boy and is charged with manslaughter. She allegedly told him to hurt Kohli.

The jury learned about her police interview where she said that she thought Kohli had a knife. The girl told police that the boy asked Kohli if it was true.

She said Kohli followed them and yelled as they left the park. He tried to scare her and showed he would hurt her, she said.

She said the boy pushed Kohli. Then, they both ran away. Police had a Snapchat video that seemed to show the boy slapping Kohli when Kohli was on the ground.

She said the boy ran from Kohli, and the man picked up a shoe to hit him. The boy grabbed the shoe and hit him. Both defendants deny the charges, and the trial is still happening.
