People in Aberdeenshire should share their thoughts on the 2025 Development Plan Scheme. The plan shows how the area’s development plan will be made.

The Council posted a draft of the plan online and is seeking feedback. The deadline for feedback is March 24. The Council will review responses in May and has even made a survey for easy input.

This scheme plans the development plan’s creation, building on the 2024 version. Public input is very important for Aberdeenshire’s future. A main part this year is the “Call for Ideas,” which includes both a “Call for Bids” and a “Call for Community Ideas.”

The “Call for Bids” asks developers for site proposals for the next development plan. The council wants to work with developers, and the deadline is October 31.

The “Call for Community Ideas” seeks input from locals, including residents and community groups. They want ideas for the local plan, and this deadline is December 31.

Alan Turner, chair of the Infrastructure Services Committee, says the plan uses national engagement standards and offers chances to get involved. He highlights that it’s your plan, and the Council wants to know what residents want.

Isobel Davidson, vice-chair of the ISC, says officers will engage with everyone. They will assist with development bids, and they will help communities shape the plan. She encourages feedback on the region’s future.
