The design adds bus stops and bike lanes, while widened paths will appear there, too. Expect planters and updated lighting, which go from Market Street to the gardens.
The city says Union Street will look great, and pavement space will increase considerably. The new market building will gain an entrance, making the area attractive and lively. Walking and biking are being promoted as Scottish whinstone and granite will surface the street. These materials are locally sourced.
The old BHS storefront becomes a market entrance. Utility work caused slight delays, but they expect completion by 2025’s end. This will be the biggest change in years! The video showed the Granite Mile, and locals shared many comments on it.
