A pedestrian was hit by a car on the A96. Emergency services responded, including an air ambulance. The road is closed.
It occurred on the A96 at Colpy, which is between Huntly and Inverurie. It happened around 7:15 this morning, and the crash closed the road both ways.
Emergency services rushed there quickly. A helicopter came from the ambulance service, and police officers from Scotland also arrived. They don’t know how badly injured the person is.
The road is still closed, and they suggest drivers find another route.
Police Scotland said the A96 is closed at Colpy, stating the accident involved a car and a person. It took place around 7:15 AM on Friday, February 21, 2025, and officers are there now. Drivers should use other roads, they advised.
The ambulance service got a call at 7:28 AM about a road traffic incident on the A96 at Colpy. They sent two ambulances, one special team, and an air ambulance.
Stagecoach Bluebird stated their buses got rerouted, and numbers 10 and M96 now go via Insch. This is due to the A96 closure at Colpy, and they will use the B9002 and A97 to Huntly, affecting both directions until further notice. The Colpy bus stop will not get service until the road reopens later.
