Expect delays on the A53 with roadworks in Endon and Leek causing temporary lights and heavy traffic.
On Newcastle Road near Leek’s Morrisons, traffic is heavy. They have a four-way traffic light system right now. This impacts the very busy A53 road.
Last week, Leek Road in Endon had temporary lights near the Co-op, causing long lines. Now families on half-term face delays. This impacts the main route to Leek. The Endon roadworks are near the Black Horse pub.
According to One Network, work near the Black Horse pub started today and lasts until February 28 at 4 PM. In Leek, the Newcastle Road lights should disappear soon. They should be gone by February 19. Work is near Woodcroft Road and Morrisons. Traffic backs up to Wallbridge Drive and the town centre. Other roadworks create further delays. Be aware during this half-term break.
There are “emergency repairs” on Cheddleton Road, Leek, near Sandybrook Lane, until February 20. Wolstanton’s Silverdale Road has water works between High Street and Dimsdale Parade East until February 18. Biddulph’s Baileys Bank has temporary lights until February 18.
Chesterton sees electricity work on Church Street between Audley Road and Cross Street, ending February 19. Kidsgrove has roadworks on Gloucester Road from Whitehall Avenue to Bedford Road. Knutton Lane near Silverdale Road closes for a week. The closure began today.
Shelton’s Stoke Road has ongoing water works ending on February 19 at 5 PM. Clayton Lane in Clayton needs highway repairs close to Stafford Avenue, ending February 21. Newcastle’s Higherland has ongoing waterworks until February 21. Finally, highway work occurs on Biddulph Road in Fegg Hayes near Hollington Drive and ends February 21.
