Major A52 roadworks cause a year of traffic changes between Priory Island and QMC. One-way system will be in place.

They are building paths for bikes and walkers. These paths lead to Wollaton Park and will also head to the University of Nottingham. They’re updating pedestrian crossings too.
Traffic will change due to the work. A one-way system will operate constantly. The westbound side will close first, shut for four months. Then, the eastbound side closes for four months. Traffic will detour via Woodside Road and use University Boulevard to bypass the A52.
The project aims to modernize the road, which should improve everyone’s experience. They hope to reduce long-term disruption by doing all improvements at once.
Engineers say this fixes traffic issues. The A52 gets congested often, and many junctions cause delays now. They will improve street lights and drainage.
Traffic management has eight phases. They plan to work mainly during the day, but some work might happen overnight, though.
This work adds to QMC bridge repairs, which caused issues already. Buses had to change their routes, and the bridge work should end this summer.
Also, improvements start soon down south. They’re fixing Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft junctions.
