Driver claimed distraction after A47 crash seriously injured a woman. He was sentenced with unpaid work and a driving ban.

Witnesses saw Zeeshan Yasin, 34, drifting across lanes. Traffic stopped ahead on October 18, 2023. Yasin didn’t notice and crashed into a car, which then hit two other cars and finally a road sign.
The first woman suffered a brain bleed because of the crash. The second driver, who was pregnant, had minor injuries. It was a really bad scene.
Yasin first said something flew in his eye and denied doing anything wrong to the police. Later, he changed his story and admitted careless driving caused serious injury.
The court sentenced him to 150 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for a year. He also had to pay court costs, and this happened at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court last week.
A police officer said Yasin made excuses, then admitted his careless actions. The crash caused trauma for everyone, showing how a moment’s lack of focus hurts many people, with the outcome potentially being even worse.
