Huge bridge components for the A417 road project will be delivered, expecting police road closures and travel delays.

Kier Transportation builds this road for National Highways. The project costs £460 million. They’re building a new dual carriageway.
It bypasses Air Balloon and Cowley roundabouts. This fixes the single-lane section by Birdlip. The bridge beams construction helps build a key bridge, called Gloucestershire Way Crossing.
Large trucks carry the bridge pieces there. They turn off A419/A417 at the roundabouts entrance. Your patience is appreciated now.
New speed limits are active near Brockworth. The limit is 40 mph. Cameras record license plates, too. Workers are driving piles near this spot presently. This piling work began in January and will last about three weeks now.
The first bridge beams arrived January 27. Each one measures 30 meters long closely. This was a big moment for the project overall. It’s especially important for the environmental bridge.
Work also continues on mini-roundabouts nearby. Drivers will notice changes by the Air Balloon roundabout soon. The A417 Missing Link project has several parts indeed. It adds 3.4 miles of dual carriageway.
This connects Brockworth to Cowley to the M5. A new junction at Shab Hill links A417 to A436. Another new junction near Cowley replaces a roundabout, too. They will repurpose the old A417 road segments. Walkers, cyclists, and riders can use them. Some parts stay for local resident access mostly.
